A new beginning

Sewing has started on our raffle quilt for the 2013 Springwood Community Quilt Show!
We had a fun day sorting fabrics and preparing packs to be taken away and sewn into lots and lots of hexagons.
Here's part of the committee hard at work last Saturday.
Some girls were a bit apprehensive about all the hand sewing involved but when it's shared around lots of helpers the task is diminished don't you think.

Fabrics were chosen or discarded.

Tania and Suzie deep in discussion.

What a lovely combination.

Thanks to Marilyn for doing all the prep for the blocks - only 263 of them!
Can't wait til the next meeting to see it all coming together.

  1. I've finished 2 starry hexagons and halfway through another one... This is going to be a beautiful quilt!!!

  2. I've almost finished my row! Even one little strip of this quilt looks pretty spectacular all put together. It's going to be FANTASTIC!!

  3. All my tacking is completed and my lot has now been passed onto Robyne for the tumbling blocks and stars. The chintzy fabrics are looking great. Thanks Marilynn for the wonderful templates.

We always appreciate you taking the time to comment.
